A case report of a sick inmate who receives the Supportive Psychotherapy and Behavioral Treatment in Bangkok Remand Prison. A male inmate was 28 years old committing offense against properties and being sentenced to 1 year imprisonment According to the inmate’s record he has psychiatric treatment at Srithanya Hospital due to substance induce psychosis. At the present he was sick with pulmonary tuberculosis and HIV infection From the inmate’s record found that he has Benzodiazepine hypnotics dependence He has taken 8 pills of Midazolam (Dormicum) per day for more than two years Therefore the clinical psychologist has provided the Supportive Psychotherapy and Behavioral Treatment in order to improve the inmate’s mental health and make the inmate sleep well without taking hypnotic Such psychotherapy and treatment also aimed to reduce the misuse of psychotropic drugs as well as to solve drug abuse problems which generate the inmate to have unsteady thoughts emotions and behaviors because of loss of control in use of substance After providing the Supportive Psychotherapy and Behavioral Treatment, the result proves that the inmate health is recovery and he is able to sleep without taking any hypnotic.
