The purpose of this quasi-experimental research was to examine the effect of teaching and learning in psychiatric nursing by using case study on critical thinking of graduate nursing students. A sample were 30 nursing students were studying in the advanced mental health and psychiatric nursing in the hospital course, A group of each 15 students were assigned in an experimental group and a control group. The instrument ; the case study teaching-learning program which was developed by researcher and critical thinking scale of Thanaporn Yaemsuda. These instruments were tested for content validity by professional experts and the measurement scale was tested for reliability by Alpha Chronbarch. The reliability of the scale was .85. This program was conducted for 8 time, 3 hours/time/week. The result of this study was as follow :- After using the program, critical thinking scores of experimental group were significantly higher than before using the program and significantly higher than control group at the 0.001 level.
