รายละเอียด / Details:

Satir model is a psychotherapeutic approach which addresses behavior, feelings, perceptions, expectations, yearnings, and sense of self in a person who feels imbalanced. The goal of the Satir model is to develop and change internal levels of self on all its levels. The therapist uses various techniques to help the patient have internal experiences, be able to make choices for change, and perceive his life energy that encourage the congruency of his internal world. The author is reporting on an alcohol dependent and depressed patient treated with Satir model. The presenting problems were anxiety about depression that influences him to reuse alcohol as he had in the past, and a subsequent feeling of hopelessness. His self-esteem is low; he feels lonely, depressed, and bored with the problems related with his alcohol consumption. The author used various techniques and strategies to help the patient explore problems using the personal iceberg metaphor. The goal was to address the impacts by helping the patient to have inner experiences, follow the patient’s growth from family map, understand the survival adaptation, recognize the patient’s life energy, supply positive thinking, give information, and find outside the sources of support. Results. Of treatment have been shown that by changing of the patient’s internal world, there is acceptance of self, more peace and calm, a continued ability to stop drinking, and pride when sharing his experiences about how to be successful in alcohol abstinence.
