รายละเอียด / Details:

In economics, alcohol is not an ordinary commodity for many reasons. Firstly, alcohol supply has been monopolized by an individual or a certain group of individuals. Secondly, which is very important, an additive product such as alcohol must not be called a “good” but a “bas” Because, alcohol consumption is a major cause of many problems such as diseases (at least sixty diseases)., accident, and other social problems that lead to a significant of economic loss. The loss comprised of those that can be and those that cannot be valued in terms of money. Although alcohol is a major and an increasingly important source of government revenue, the revenue is not enough to outweigh the cost to the Thai society. However, an increasing trend of alcohol consumption in Thailand, despite that the behavior is not allowed by all major religions, demonstrates that the word “not ordinary” for alcohol undeniably carries great weight.
