Interest in computer –delivered psychological interventions has grown over the past 25 years and has gained increased emphasis with the rapid spread of internet technology. Many websites now deliver psycho-educational materials and self-assessments. These are typically aimed at community awareness and de-stigmatization, with additional emphasis on referral pathways and supporting others. With respect to treatment interventions, interest to date has focused on the delivery of self-help oriented structured psychological therapies such as CBT. In countries with high internet usage. The medium has become a dominant source of mental health information for patients, their caregivers and other interested parties. Recognizing this, a variety of responsible health care organizations, from Colleges to researchers to NGOs are energetically developing their internet offerings to provide high quality, authoritative advice in an attractive format. Examples are given of online CBT and IPI for depression, exposure for anxiety, peer networking to improve mental health literacy, self-assessment, and psycho-educational a outreaches. Outcome studies for treatment programs are ongoing with several programs licensed for use by regulatory authorities on the basis of demon started efficacy. Increasingly material is available in a variety of languages and, as access and bandwidth grows worldwide, the salience of the internet to the provision of health care is increasing.
