"How can we work together for better mental health in Asia?" is not important if we are all committed to work together and help each other. But the way we work may be used as a framework to bring interesting individuals from each country to form a working group and implement activities. There are various ways to work together. First, training mental health care workers to detct and treat those who suffer from mental disorders. Second, conducting research together to solve the problems of mental health in the region. Third, forming a network for collaboration and development of guidelines for mental health interventions. Last, but not least, by sharing knowledge of good practices from countries in this region. The above mentioned can be called TReNDS, which stands for Training, Research, Networking Development, and Sharing knowledge. The following speakers in this symposium will elaborate further on activities that have already been completed and those, which are currently being undertaken in the region. With this approach we expect abetter outlook for mental health in Asia toward 2020.
