The purpose of this study was to develop the wellness indicators for people with HIV/AIDS by applying research and development approach. The data collecting was qualitative methodology that used in six stages as following : first, reviewing literature; second, focus group discussion among people with HIV/AIDS, professionals from both government and non-government organization; third, in-dept interview among seven expert groups; fourth, operational seminar people with HIV/AIDS, professionals from both government and non-government organization, member of people with HIV/AIDS’s family, community members and expert’s representatives; fifth, establishing the domains, subdomains and indicators of the wellness indicators for people with HIV/AIDS; he last, verify content validity these indicators by seven expert groups. The findings of the study were as follows. The wellness indicators for people with HIV/AIDS composed of 6 domains 31 subdomains and 81 indicators. The physical domain composed of 4 subdomains including; 2 indicators on good health status, 2 indicators on energy consumed for daily living, 2 indicators on good treatment response and 2 indicators on increased dependence on health service. The psychological/spiritual/beliefs domain composed of 12 subdomains including; 4 indicators on adaptability to external change, 3 indicators on ability to coping, 2 indicators on sense of mastery, 1 indicators on satisfaction with oneself, 1 indicators on bodily image satisfaction, 2 indicators on sexual perception, 3 indicators on positive feelings toward oneself, 3 indicators on positive feelings toward society, 2 indicators on meaning of life, 2 indicators on self-esteem, 3 indicators on own life planning and 4 indicators on religion/personal beliefs. The family domain composed of 3 subdomains 8 indicators including; 4 indicators on warm family, 2 indicators on family support and 2 indicators on household management. The social domain composed of 8 subdomains 25 indicators including; 3 indicators on society acceptance, 6 indicators on being free from social discrimination, 1 indicators on peer inter-relationships, 2 indicators on inter-relationships with soceity’s member, 2 indicators on community participation, 2 indicators on altruism, 3 indicators on health care accessibility and 6 indicators on social welfare accessibility. The economic domain composed of 2 subdomains 5 indicators; 3 indicators on wealth and 2 indicators on working. The environment domain composed of 2 subdomains 5 indicators; 3 indicators on hygienic environment and 2 indicators on safety environment. The environment domain composed of 2 subdomains 5 indicators; 3 indicators on hygienic environment and 2 indicators on safety environment.
