รายละเอียด / Details:

The Thai Expressed Emotion Scale (Thai-EES) was developed to assess the expressed emotions (EE) of family caregivers of people with schizophrenia in a Thai context. Items for the scalewere generated from in-depth interviews with Thai family caregivers and had a content validty index of .88. Psychometric testing took place with 566 caregivers and a small sub-sample of patients diagnosed with schizophrenia. Principal component analysis extracted 7 subscales within the measure. Five subscales were congruent with previously identified components of EE (critcism, hostility, positive remarks, warmth and over-involvement) while two EE subscales appeared to be more culture-specific (emotional under-Involvement and emotion regulation ). The measure was able to discriminate between caregivers with different degrees of psychological distress as well as between patients with different histories of hospitalization and levels of self sufficiency. It showed convergent validity with other EE measures.Internal consistency and test retest reliability were also supported.
