Objective: What is (are) the concomitant factor (s) of the both problems? Core of the problems will be explored to explain the mainstream concepts and to regulate the maneuvers and the protocols. Methods: 1. Retrospective study was applied in suicidal cases during December 2006-June 2007; 2. Case-Control study was applied by suicidal scales (Department of Mental Health, Ministry of Public Health of Thailand) and analyzed by Odds Ratio. Results: There were fifty out of hundred cases of suicidal patients related to substance or alcoholic used in their past history. Evaluation was in six months interval before the study, it had shown fifteen times to have suicidal ideation in these populations when comparative with normal populations. Conclusion: Associated physicians: psychiatrists, doctors, nurses, psychologists and health coworkers might concentrate in evaluating and altogether aware of both problems. Explored psychotic symptoms and suicidal ideas in substance-alcoholic persons to prevent suicide and explored substance-alcoholic history in suicidal patients to recommend rehabilitation program for substance used disorder. Finally, social benefits were the goal to have a good or proper preventive psychiatry in the future.
