Objective : To review pharmaceutical care in schizophrenic patients. Method : Searching pharmaceutical care in schizophrenic patients from journals and collecting information of the pharmacist's role of Somdet Chaopraya Institute of Psychiatry Results : Schizophrenia is a common psychosis disease. Over the half of Somdet Chaopraya Institute of Psychiatric patients was schizophrenia. Using of appropriate drug is important in effective disease management. On the other hand, some drug related problems maybe occurred like adverse drug reaction, drug interaction and non compliance. Pharmacist as one of the patient care team must take action in patient drug using for better quality of life. American Society of Health-System Pharmacists 2015 Initiative's goals and objectives definite professional pharmacy as clinical professional that working at the bed side of patients, communicating with patients and patient care team. Major activity is drug information service, adverse drug reaction monitoring, getting drug history at admission, wardround with patient care team and drug patient profile management. These pharmacist activities will prevent and desrease the burden of disease of patient acute and chronic state. They will promote efficacy safety and efficient in drug using. In present, Somdet Chaopraya Institute of Psychiatric pharmacists have many activities associate with patients drug using consist of drug system management to promote appropriate drug using, transferring drug information by management information system, and pharmaceutical care improvement. On process, the pharmacists are working with patient care team improve the method to promote patient drug compliance by knowledge management and create the model that match the context of this institute patients. Conclusion : Pharmacist act as one of the patient care team to promoting good result of treatment and better quality of patient life.
