Fountain House is a unique psychiatric institution where we not only provide psychiatric rehabilitation facilities to the people with schizophrenia but also facilitate our general public and Health Professionals in educating them through different mental health training programs and through conducting free psychiatric services weekly, monthly and yearly, weekly free psychiatric services are provided at Ahbab Hospital Ravi Road on every Wednesday for last 22 years. Monthly free psychiatric services are provided at Fountain House Farm Farooqabad similarly yearly free psychiatric camps are organized at Choti (D.G.Khan), Bhurbhun (Murree), Kalash (Chitral) and Samundari (Faisalabad). For follow up, patients are in structed to attend free OPD services in Rawalpindi General Hospital, Ibadat Hospital Peshawar, Department of Psychiatry Fatima Jinnah Medical College Gange Ram Hospital Lahore and Fountain House, Lahore. In order to improve the mental health facilities in the periphery, a one year comprehensive training programme for family physicians was started by WPA (Zone-15) with official support of WPA Section of Education. This programme has active collaboration with Academy of Family Physicians Pakistan, Pakistan Psychiatric Society and South Asian Forum (Pakistan Chapter). Family physicians from remote areas attend this course for the period of one year. This programme is an attempt to compensate the shortage of qualified psychiatrists working in the periphery.
