The study of the health behavior modification among the overweight elementary school children was aimed to evaluate the effectiveness and outcome of the program in eating behavior, exercise behavior, and daily activities modification. From the total of 17 the elementary schools in Bangkoknoi district three schools were randomized and assigned into the experimental group 1 school and 2 schools in control groups. Then, the 102 overweight school children with the permission of their parent from these schools were randomized into each group (51 children in each group). The 6 month-health behavior modification intervention composed of the nutritional assessment, the health education in controlling weight, and the counseling in eating and exercising behavior. From the comparison of the incidence of the weight control among these two groups, the study revealed that the effectiveness of the intervention in controlling weight in school children was 15.37 %. Fifteen children from the total of 100 could be able to control their weight after the program including the self care management in eating and exercising habits. Results of the Outcome of Health Behavior Modification Program in overweight children on the Anthropometric assessment revealed that there were statistical significance among groups. The intervention group had significant changed in BMI (Body Mass Index) (p ‹ .05), TWA (Thai weight for age) (p < .001), THA (Thai Height for age) (p < .001), Trunk (p < .001) and Hips circumference in (in cm.) (p < .001), and Sub Coetaneous fat (i.e., Mid Arm Circumference (p < .05), Triceps skin fold (p < .01), Biceps skin fold (p < .05).
