Objective: This cross-sectional descriptive research aimed to examine the quality of life of elderly people. It identified selected factors related to a quality of life and demonstrated that there were predictable qualities that affect the quality of life of elderly people in Bangkok. Method: The subjects were 388 elderiy people who participated in the activities of elderly groups under the care and supervision of the Bangkok Medical Service Department. The research tools were a selected factors questionnaire and a Pictorial Thai Quality of Life (PTQL). Results: The study found people who participated in this study had high quality of life in terms of social function and self-esteem. However the physical , cognitive, affective, and economic aspects of their quality of life were mid-range. And the analytical results of this study indicated that elderly people's income and personal ailmentswree related to their quality of life .Suffciency of income was the only foctor which explained the variance in alderly quality of life. (p-value= 0.05). Conclusion: Sufficiency of income and personal ailmentswere related to quality of life of elderly people in Bangkok. And suffciency of income was the only foctor which explained the variance in elderly of life. Even though most of the subjects have personal aliments, but the research results that the sample group have the quality of the life at mid-range to high-range. So their participation in the activities of elderly groups probably helped to promote mental, physical well-being and quality of the elderly in Bangkok.
