Objective This research aimed to studying the experiences of mothers with autistic children regarding recognition and diagnosis of autism in their child, the interventionservices accessed and the participation of the mothers in the intervention program. Materials and methods the purposive sampling was used for the target group.There were ten participants comprising mothers of autistic children in this study. Thedatas were collected using the in-depth interview method and confirmation by memberchecking. The datas were analyzed using contents analysis. Results The results showed that none recognized the autistic conditions, but theywere aware of early abnormal behavior when their children responded to stimuli after 6 months to 1 year old. The children met the doctor at age ranging from 1 year 8 months to 3 years, and diadnosis was made when they were between 3 to 4 years. The autistic children received the Allies Health Program, for instance Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Behavior modification and Hemaencephalogram. Each program was conducted 2-4 times per week and the mothers were primary persons who coordinated the services required by the children. The family adapted a schedule for obtaining these services, and was involved in services such as the Home Program,reading and learning more, and consultation. Conclusion The results revealed that none of mothers recognized the autistic conditions before. They were aware of abnormal behavior when their children were 6 months. The children were diagnosed by psychiatrist when they wre 3 to 4 years. They received multi-disciplinary programs which mothers and families wre involved. The results of this study are worthy for the Occupationl Therapist in understanding themother with autistic children, leading to the development of clinical practice program which involves the mother.
