From the investigation of one-month prevalence of psychiatric illiness in Nongchok district, Bangkok by using GHQ-60, the authors found that approximately thirty percent of respondents reported currently experiencing sleep problems. The tendency was high in association with health problems, current stressors, life events and aging. The implications of this result re of great importance for the development of sleep studies in communities nd for the physicians to pay greater attention to sleep problems of their patients.
