The study of the drug epidemic by survery of 200 heroin addicts in a Narcotic revealed that even though the opium dens been ordered closed in 1959, the evidence of adolescents strating to use opium was as sporadic as before and they have started using it by increasing age ever since. the statistics showed clearly that after 1959 there were explosions of narcotics in Thailand. Heroin No. 3 was used increasingly by young adults just after 1959 and was sporadically used until 1976. This was followed by the use of marijuana by school children, The marijuana epidemic peak occunred during 1973-1976. 68.5 percent of heroin users had used marijuana as their first drug, resulting in the epidemic peak of heroin (No.4) among adolescents during 1974-1976.
