A new guideline for development of dental practice system for reducing problems in pre-operation, operation, and post-operation in psychiatric patients is composed of steps, methods and specialties of technique which are different from general patients, Not only does it utilize the eight minds - eight actions technique which is the main principle to create patient-dentist relationship, team approach and management, but it also needs the standard criteria for selection of psychiatric patients, dental health education group, instruction and estimation within the dental health education room, and evaluation of the dental mental status in pre-operation. Emergency treatment of psychiatric patients, referral system, adverse effects of anti-psychotic drugs which affect systemic organs, and precaution of using local anesthetic agents are absolutely involved in the dental practice. Although the processes of psychiatric patient preparation need considerable times, the actual operation is accomplished with great effort to deal with these patients by taking rapidly tight opportunity for the maximal efficiency.
