The Purpose of this sutdy was to investigate psychosocial impacts of epilepsy towards epileptic patients.A questionnaire containing 4 aspects of psychosocial impacts namely social and family relations self-care self-esteem and attitude towards anti-epileptic druge (AEDs) was applied to 60 epieleptic patients attending an epileptic clinic srithanya hospital.These patients were divided into 2 groups by seizure severity determined by a number of AED used.The results showed that there were statisitcally significant differences in means of the overall psychosocial impact scores between the two groups.Except for delf-esteem aspect there were statisitcal differences in sum scores of other three aspects of psychosocial impacts between two groups.
