Child sexual abuse is not uncommon encountered. Victims have had psychological impacts. Sexual abuse is an emotionally damaging experience.Sixteen reported cases were analyzed which the objectives of determining general characteristics and psychiatric sumptoms exhibited by the abysed girls aged less than 18. Result : all sexual abused girls aged between 9-17 mean age 12 year 6 months.Most are from poor small sized family with poor family relationship and inadequate parental supervision.Some family member had history of drug abuse and one fouth had spouse abuse. Most had experienced their first sexual abuse at the age of 7-9:50% were abused by family members 43.7% by familiar person and 12.5% by monks and strangers.Half of them were subsequently raped,half had forced sexual abuse. The most sexual abuse was vaginal intercourse.Intermediate psychological consequences were that of anger fear anxiety suicidal ideation and school refusal Long term psychiatric symptoms included anger fear depression runaway and inappropriate sexual behavior. Conclusion:Sexually abused children are at high risk for psychiatric symptoms.Findings indicate the need for routine systemic evaluation for these symptoms and treatment planning.
