The objectives of this study were to evaluate relatives' attitudes and actions toward psychiatric patients patients behavior and also communities participation in psychiatric patients care of four Amphurs in Srisaket Province:Rasrisalai Utumpornpisai Khukhan and Sriratana. After the project had been tried out for 8 months. The target patient samples were all of 72 persons. The 42 samples of patients relatives were achieved by accidental random sampling form each of 42 families of patients relatives. The 48 samples of patients neighbors and community leaders were also selected. Data were collected since 14-27 Junce 2000 by interviewing and focus group asking using interviewing forms and guidelines for asking in focus groups. In data analysis the statistics used were frequency and percentage. Furthermore the descriptive and interpretative explanation were also used for qualitative data. The findings showed that more than 50% of the psychiatric patients had skills in social and community aspect. They could work and have their regular living in their families at a gppd to very good level. The perception of the relatives actions toward the psychiatric patients were more than 80% between a high and highest level in general. Especially the relatives realization in the illness of the patients themselves they could perceive as high as 95% About the attitudes of the patients realatives the result was at a good level. There were some significant improvement. The action toward the psychiatric patients was better. The relatives tplerance and degree of patient behavior realization were higher. About the community participation it was found that neighbors community leaders and various people in the target area had a lot of opinions toward the patients. Nevertheless all could be concluded in the same direction that it was their task to help them. They felt that if they were the patients surely they would want to get well from the illness as well. The most important of all the operation plan for various activities should be participatory estaablished and implemented be the communities themselves.
