This survey research aimed to study factors relating to the coping strategies of students Mathayomsuksa 4 to 6 of 9 secondary schools in Ubinratchatani municipal area during the first semester in the year 1999. The 1,720 male and female students were randomly selected by stratified sampling. Instruments used, which contained 5 parts of self-questionaires were: 1. Personal information 2. The Maudsley Personality Inventory 3. The General self-efficacy Scale by sherer and other 4. The Aspects of Family Relationship Scale 5. The Coping Strategies Inventory developed by researchers and was standardized the content validity by experts. Data were analzzed by percentage and Chi-square test. The results revealed that the majority of the students performed the Problem-Focused coping were Extraversion-Introversion personality trait at the level of normalized scores(81.5%) and Neuroticism-Stability personality trait at the level of normalized scores 603% . The self-efficacy of students were 53.8 mean scores and 13.93 standard deviation scores and the Aspects of Family Relationship of students were 53.8 mean scores and 13.92 standard deviation scores. Sex and the Neuroticism-Stability personality trait had significantly correlated with the Coping Strategies. (p=.010,p=.000). The Self-efficacy and the Aspects of Family Relationship of students had significantly correlated with the Coping Strategies. (p=.010,p=.000).
