In the year 1974 to 1976 there were 48 cases of anxiety neuroses in children which was 50% of all neuroses and 11% of all psychiatric cases. the younger boys (6-7 year old) presented anxiety symptoms more than gilrls of the same age. While the girls preceded in numbers more than boys during puberty which is co-incidence with adult cases in that there were more anxiety neuroses in women than men. Most of the cases were found in late childhood period (8-10 years) during which they were in 4th Prathom and 5th Pratjom. Most children had good or average grade in their clases. There was no difference in the social class. It was of interest that the number of house wife mothers are prominent. they had closed relationship with children which appeared to be disturbed. They easily played emotions to each other or the roles of the parents were inconsistent. Otherwise there were mothers (or few number of fathers) who were themselves, anxious and neurotic. There was no case of neglected child in this series. Respiratory system was the mostly chief complaint. Two-third of the children had previous emotional problems. The phobic, sensitive, anxious or with-drawal character were found more than the out burst impulsive or aggressive one. Most of the children character were prone to become neurotic. 22 cases of the children had previous childhood phobia.
