The objectives of this research were to study the mental health of the traffic police in MBA and the association of personal factors, performance factors and mental health status of the traffic police. The samples were 425 traffic police drawn from those who worked at 3 departments and 1 section by simple random sampling trchnique. The questionnaire constructed by the researchers and the Thai Mental Health Questionnaire (TMHQ), which were tested with content validity and reliability at 0.93 confidence interval were applied. The statistical analysis techniques were frequency, percentage and Chi-square. The results found that only 58.1 percent of the traffic police had overall mental health in the normal curve, while 41.9 percent had some mental health problems. The problems were somatization 35.8% anxiety 16.2% depression 13.2% psychotic 5.2% and social function 1.6% respectively. The problems that instigated stress, anxiety and distress were economic problems, work-related problems and family problems respectively. Regarding the association of personal factors, performance factors and mental health status of the traffic police, the personal fators I.e. financial status responsibility and residential areas and the performance factors I.e. ranks were statistically significant associated with mental health status of the traffic police. This study will beneficial to campaign the prevention for mental health of the traffic polices.
