The purpose of this study was to identify an IQ test score to discriminate mental retardation (MR) from learning disabilites LD in childrenand to study the characteristics of the Weschler Intelligence Scale for Children WISC subtests scatter scores between MR and in LD children. A sample group of 168 children from the out-patients Psychiatric Department, Siriraj Hospital was studied. WISC was used to collect the data which analyzed by discriminance analysis. The mena scatter scores were calculated from the WISC subtests and judged by Kaufman's criteria.
