This research has two main purposes. One is to examine the prevalence of suicidal thinking among students in the Northern secondary schools. The other is to investigate the relationship between suicidal thinking and homicidal thinking and family background. Of 1}184 students aging between 15-19 years old, the study find out that 13.6 and 12.6 percent of those atudents has suicidal and homicidal thinking respectively. Suicidal thinking also has strong relationship with homicidal thinking in addition to unstable financial and frequently violent family and picture representing their parents mood expressed towards them.
