The study aimed at studying and comparing the supervisory behaviours of head nurses. The subjects were categorized by ages, job experiences and being trained experieces on administrating, supervising, planing, implementing and assessing . The results indicated that the head nurses had fair level in planing and assessing and most of them had implementing the sepervision. However there was same difference between the frequency of planing, implementing and assessing practices among the head nurses and the variables including age and job experiences. The head nurses aged over 50 had performed every aspects of nursing supervisions more frequently than the younger ones. Also, the findings suggested that the head nurses with past training experiences in nursing administration and nursing supervision would perform the planing, I,plementing, and assessing the supervision more than the other group. The problems, concerning the nursing supervision on planing implementing, and assessing rank at the fair serious level. In terms of planing the most frequent problem was lacking of plan and procedures on nursing supervision in advance while the disproportion of staff to patients and the teavy work loads in providing nursing services were the problems in terms of implementing. Also, the first rank of the problem in terms of assessing was the lack of criteria determination and the assessment fromats were not avalable for use.
