The purpose of this study were to compare the local of anxiety before psychiatric-mental health nursing practice of the second year nursing students before and after being used by group orientation and to compare the level of anxiety in the experimental group and the control group. The sample were 40 second year nursing students of Baromratchachonnani college of nursing Ratchburi who were assigned into one experimental and one control group by randomizied block design method. The experimental group were oriented by the researcher using the group process orientation which composed of three phases, introduction discussion about received information and conclusion (the problem). Research tools were group orientation model and Stare Trait Anxiety Inventory before psychiatric-mental health nursing practice. Those tools were teste for the content validity and the reliability. Researchdata were analyzed by t-test The major results of this study were; 1. The anxiety before psychiatric-mental health nursing practice of nursing student after used group process orientation were statistically significantly lower than before the experiment, at the .05 level. 2. The anziety before psychiatric-mental nursing practice of nursing students in the experimental group after used by group process orientation were statistically significantly lower than those of the students in the control group at the .05 klevel.
