Mental retarded person is one of the group of handicapped people that need many supports from other people. From the past until now, most of support came from the services that government provided for them, which is not enough for all of them and the support can not help them to have the independent life, but it makes them to be the big burden for their families and the government. From this problem, the concept to taking care of the mental retarded person in nowadays was changed to promote and support their families to take the important role for taking care the, because the family is the most important and very closed up to the mental retarded person. If the family can take care the mental retarded person, it will be good for quality of life of the mental retarded person and good for decrease the big burden of society and the country also. Purpose 1. To promote mental retarded family to find the way for taking care the mental retarded person together. 2. To enhancing the mental retarded family strength Process and result The first phase, conducted in 2000 : the activities were to give the knowledge to the family, seminar of the family for family strength. The result of this phase were the family accepted the role for taking care the mental retarded person and set to be the group of mental retarded family. The second phase, conducted in 2001 ; the activities were to promote and support the family for expand their net work for helping each other, seminar of the family for family strength. The result of this phase was the network of the family has many activities together. The third phase, conducted in 2002 : the activates were seminar of the family for family strength, the activities for found raising and open "ROM-PHO HOUSE", the place that provided for taking care the mental retarded person that run by the group of family.
